Failure at ERC

Frustrating but encouraging outcome from the ERC (European Research Council) Advanced Grant. My project ICE&LASERS went successfully through the two steps of evaluation (with a final notation of 7.0 over 8.0), but it gets rejected in the end due to lack of budget. I'll submit it again in 2011.
